Our HOPE Campaign is our Annual Fund Drive and is the Matthews HELP Center's largest fundraiser of the year. This campaign fuels our Crisis Assistance Program for 2026, and we would love your support. To make an online gift, click on the DONATE button above. Your gift will provide support for individuals and families facing eviction and utility disconnection now and in the near future. We also accept DAF distributions as well as stock. Welcome to Matthews HELP Center!
The mission of Matthews HELP Center is to provide short-term crisis assistance to our neighbors in the Greater Matthews community.
Our vision is to be the central location in our community where help and resources are provided to those in need. The core values practiced daily by all staff state: in everything we do, we will act with respect, compassion and a determination to improve the quality of life for those we serve.
Centrally located in the Town of Matthews, we serve the following zip code areas:
28104 - Matthews / Stallings
28105 - Matthews
28226 - Charlotte
28270 - Charlotte
28211 - Charlotte (new service area)
28079 - Indian Trail
Our Services
MHC provides 3 days’ worth of supplemental staples to eligible households residing within our service area.
If there is a need for clothing or household items, clients may be eligible for a voucher to our thrift store.
If transportation is a barrier to getting to a new job or necessary appointments, you may be eligible for transportation assistance.
Matthews HELP Center, in partnership with Matthews Gives Back, assists with school supplies for local students K-12 in our service area for the new school year.
Matthews HELP Center, in partnership with Matthews Gives Back, hosts a holiday shopping experience for clients to shop.
In the event of unforeseen financial crisis that prevents you from being able to pay rent or utilities on time, Matthews HELP Center may be able to assist with some or all of a payment.
