Matthews HELP Center
PO Box 91
Matthews, NC 28106
The mission of Matthews HELP Center is to provide short-term crisis assistance to our neighbors in the Greater Matthews community.
Matthews HELP Center provides assistance with food, shelter, clothing and transportation for those unable to meet life essentials. Our help begins with you!
Item Donations Accepted Monday through Saturday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Thank you for thinking of the Matthews HELP Center and Backporch Treasures Thrift Boutique to donate your gently used items.
Please see the lists below for items we can and cannot accept.
Items we can use will be placed for sale in our Thrift Boutique. Proceeds from the Boutique benefit our financial assistance programs at the Matthews HELP Center providing crisis assistance to local residents in need. Thank you!
FOOD PANTRY and General Needs
Thank you to those who blessed us with food for our clients. Our shelves are still quite full with non-perishable items.
Please consider a monetary donation or items of need from the Amazon Wish List.
This will help us help our families the most, as many are receiving food stamps. We sincerely appreciate your support.
Give at Work
Matching Gifts - Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. If you are employed or retired, check with your Human Resource or payroll department to determine if they have a program and what are the next steps in the process. The Matching Gift Program is a great way for you to double your gift! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for questions.
Leave a Legacy
A bequest is a gift of any amount made outright in your will. You may include a charitable bequest when you execute a new will or you can add it to an existing will. Bequests to Matthews HELP Center are very important, and will help us continue to support families in need in the future. We appreciate your consideration in leaving a legacy.
