About Our Food Pantry

Matthews HELP Center’s food pantry is vital to meeting our mission. During fiscal year 2011-12, our food pantry fed 5,882 people enough food to last one week, thanks to the generosity of many individuals, churches and businesses we are fortunate enough to count as our partners.

We welcome donations of food, hygiene, and household items (i.e. laundry detergent, toilet tissue, etc.) to our food pantry. You can view those items we most need here.

If you are planning a large food drive, please let us know so we can coordinate with you regarding timing, given that our space is limited.

Our food pantry is manned completely by volunteers who accept donations, sort bulk food items, stock shelves, pack food boxes and in general, do a lot of very physically demanding work. If you are interested in volunteering in our food pantry, please complete a volunteer application form and indicate your desire to work in the food pantry on that form.
